Tilda in Red Candle

I'm really getting into stamping onto candles at the moment. I must say that this really does get better with practice. I bought this new Tilda recently and love her becasue she can be a birthday or Christmas one. This time I coloured her with my pro markers (which I'm still loving!!!!!) and coloured her crown and wand with gold glitter and finished it off with red stitched ribbon. I'm going to enter her into the Die Cut Dreams Christmas challenge which this week is Tilda In Red.

Another Tilda Christmas

Afternoon all, well another Christmas Tilda card. This time I've layered her over a debossed dots (from my cuttlebug) and have put her sitting on a glittery strip like a chair and in the background i have scattered sequins to look like snowflakes. I'm actually really impressed with the way that this card has turned out and I'm entering it into this weeks Allsorts Challenge which is Primary Colours.

My first go at promarkers!

Well I know that its taken a while but I have bought my first lot of promarkers. I wasnt going to bother getting any but while doing a lot of blog hopping and everyone goes on about them so much I thought I would give them a go. Well I'm so glad that I did!!! I love them!!!! In fact I liked them so much I bought another pack lol!!!! I bought a Christmas pack and then the primary colours pack (with a few extras as well!!) Anyway todays card is the fairytale tilda made into a Christmas card, she is sitting on a bench that came in the Xmas patchwork pals set from QVC layered over my favourite cuttlebug Christmas tree and finished off with pink satin ribbon. I'm really pleased with this card :) and I hope the DT at Sweet Stamping Challenge blog like it too because I'm entering it into their challenge this week which is Pretty in Pink.

Snowflakes

My mojo still has not returned :( I cant believe it I've been craft shopping and everything!! Anyway I made this card the other day and its a variation on the pastel christmas one that I ave already posted. The bakground is embossed dots from a cuttlebug embossing folder layered over pearlesant turquoise card with turquoise glitter and then a papermania felt snowflake with silver gems over the top. I love these simple cards at the moment, they are really elegant and effective. I'm going to enter this into Moving along with the Times challenge this week which is Christmas and Cute Card Thursday which is Whateva.

Pastel Christmas

Well I've got another Christmas card done today, this one is so simple but so effective. I bought one of the new Papermania embossing folders for my Cuttlebug. I think that this image is so detailed so I didnt want to mess up the image so embossed on some glossy white card, added some pale turquoise glitter and layered over turquoise card and added a peel off. I am really happy with this card (for the first time in ages). I hope the DT team at Cupcake Challenge like it also because I'm going to enter it in their challenge this week which is pastel Christmas

Vintage Christmas

Well my mojo still hasnt totally returned but it getting there, I have had a great day today blog hopping, found some new blog challenges and looking through some amazing talents out there! Well one of the challenge blog that I found today is the Crafty Pad. This week the challenge is vintage and you can see the DT samples here I thought this would make an excellent chance to make another Christmas card because this is not my normal style. The image is from Joanna Sheen a few years ago (I found it in my stash), layered over gold satin card and some vintage style papers that I found in my stash (im not sure where they are from, sorry) and coloured the edges with a dark red ink.

Christmas in July

As you can see from my blog you would think that its Christmas now!! (mind you I did see that some card shops in town are starting to get theirs in too!!)Any way I have found a new challenge blog called "the cuttlebug spot" and I just love my cuttlebug!! You can see the designs by the DT here. Well this is a variation on a card that I made earlier in the week but I think that it looks better with the gold and red combination, its so subtle but effective. I do love this embossing folder!

Christmas Scene

my card making mojo has totally gone this week (I spent yesterdays crafting shows on QVC trying to craft and made 1 card!!!) so my cards at the moment are not my usual quality! I'm getting really annoyed with myself about it! Anyway this is the one card that I made yesterday for the Bah Humbug blog challenge which this week is Christmas Scene, the DT samples (which are amazing as always) can be seen here I have used the Percy and Penelope stamp that I just love, coloured with glitter gel pens and used tiny gems that I bought from ebay. The background card is part of the patchwork pals kit that I bought from QVC and then used snowflake brads in the background

Candle Stamping!!

This is the first time I have tried stamping onto candles and finally got it right! Its going to be a bit of a tight Christmas this year so thought that these would make great extra add in for pressies for friends and family (and cheaper than chocolates) I have been experimenting with colours and colouring mediums. (and still need to find the perfect stamp for them too but I'm sure I will get there!!) Let me know what you think.

one for the girls

another blog challenge today - this time I've entered the Totally Papercrafts blog challenge which this week is one for the girls. you can see the dt designs here and as usual they are excellent. I have used the image that I won a few weeks ago from totally papercrafts which is made by the greeting farm, layered over a happy birthday embossing folder from cuttlebug. I love the black and red combination and I hope you like it too :)

less is more

Over on the Bah Humbug challenge blog the theme this week is "Less Is More." The design teams creation are excellent and you can see them here. Now I'm in the mind set that you can never have too much anything at Christmas!! So this challenge was really really difficult for me but I hope that you like it :) The image is a stamped forever friends image coloured with glitter and layered over red and green mirri card and finished with a peel off greeting.

Strawberries and Cream

well 2 blog challenges this week have the same theme of strawberries and cream so joining them together seemed sensible! They are secret crafter and winter wonderland. Well as you can tell by y blog Christmas is nearly here!! (yeah I know its not eve July yet!!) so I thought I would make another Christmas card! The red and white spotty paper totally went with the theme and the forever friends stamp I just love!!! I also covered the card with glitter spray just to make it really sparkly!!

recycle a pink card!

Well I really haven't had much time to craft this week (I can't believe its Wednesday already!!) so I've actually joined 3 blog challenges with this card! On cute card thursday the theme is recycle or reuse, so the piece of ribbon that I have used is from a set of jammies that I have bought recently. The second challenge is from pollycraft monday challenge and the theme this week is pink and the final one is on the Bunny Zoe blog and the theme for this one is girly. Well I have had so much fun following sketches I started to try and do my own this one is my first attempt so I thought I would keep it nice and simple, let me know what you think.

let us shine :)

Over on Crafty Creations Challenge blog the challenge this week is let us shine. Which means any glitter, stickles, ribbon etc. The design team creations as always are fantastic and you can see them here. For my card I have layered some glitter paper over a card blank, used a large background stamp (which i bought from ebay a few years ago and I just love it - its was a great bargain too!!) and used one of my foam stamps from QVC and coloured it with my watercolour pencils, then covered it all over with glitter spray.

Truly Scrumptious challenge

This week on truly scrumptious challenge is a sketch and I'm really getting into these as they are so different from anything that I would normally do. I do love this forever friends stamp its so simple but effective, and I stamped the background in a small cupcake stamp (that I actually forgot that I had!) and stamped the greeting that came from a Popcorn bear stamp set.

A child's Christmas

another Christmas card today (i know what your thinking it been a gorgeous day outside but inside I've been surrounded by snowmen and snowflakes!!) and this time its for the Bah Humbug challenge blog which theme this week is "A Child's Christmas." You can see the amazing samples from the DT here. Now usually I don't buy big kits from QVC cos I really dont normally use them, but I have bought this Patchwork Pals kit for 2 years in a row - I just love it!! The images are so cute and good for kids cards. I have put some flock on the hat and covered the whole card in glitter spray.

white festive tree

ok first blog of the week is a joint challenge :) over on Winter Wonderland the challenge this week is festive tree, the DT samples are amazing and you can see them here. Well Christmas wouldnt be Christmas without a tree so I thought that I would combine with the challenge on Die Cut Dreams Christmas challenge which is All White Christmas and the DT samples are great also. I found this one really difficult because although I do use a lot of white I do use a lot of colour too. For the challenge you can use a small amount of colour so I used some red glitter to highlight the lights. I hope you like this :)

Sunday, 20 June 2010

Lets have a sing song

On the Polly Craft Monday Challenge the theme is songs, so I thought that this would be an excellent chance to make another Chritmas card (if I keep going at this rate I'm going to have them all done by the end of July!!!!) Well my favourite Christmas song ever is "Let It Snow" so this card is layered snowflake paper, then embosed foil card with the sledging embossing folder from Cuttlebug with stickers from Poundland last Christmas and snowflake brads.

Not forever friends

ok final one for today, the challenge on the forever friends blog challege this week is "not forever friends." As they are being sponsored by Joanna Sheen they have decided that we can use any cute stamps that we may have, check out the great samples the design team have made with Joanna's Lofty stamps here. Well I have decided to use one of my Cuddly Buddly stamps. I love them and have so many but i think that the image that I have used is my favourite (well at the moment, this changes on a regular basis!) as it the one I come back to time after time.

Embossed!

Wow another challenge completed today, that must be a record for me!! lol! Anyway over on Crafty Catz the theme this week is embossng you can see the design teams great creations here Now if you have been looking through my blog recently you will have noticed that I just love my cuttlebug! (I've not had it very long so its still a bit of a novelty to me) So I thought that I would make a baby card as my step sister and her hubby are due to have a baby girl in September! I used the baby love cuttlebug embossing folder for the background, layered on foil card is a image of baby feet (that I really love but do not have a clue where I got it from!!) I hope you like it :)

One for the boys

On the cupcake craft challenge this week the theme is "one for the boys" as its fathers day on Sunday. I always struggle with cards for my dad (i fact any male cards in general!!) but this year I thought I would take a generally thought of girly image and try to make it more manly! lol! Well I hope I have succeeded! its another black base card, with a forever friends stamp image(which I think is a christmas stamp).

Totally paper craft Challenge Winner

A couple of weeks ago I was picked as the winner for the totally paper crafts winner :) anyway this morning my prize from Simon Says Stamps arrived this morning. It was a gorgeous stamp made by "the greeting farm." I just love it and I have already made a card with it :) Thank you so much to both Totally Papercraft and Simon Says Stamps :)

Anything but square!!

I'm quite late blogging this card for Cute Card thursday but I really could not find my crop o dile and its been driving me nuts this week!! lol anyway i found it today. As you can tell from my blogging I've been really into Xmas cards just now so heres my Xmas pud!!

Im so tired!!

why is it when you have a day off work you cannot lie in but when you know you need to get up for work you just can't!!! Anyway I was up at 6am this morning so I'm in the process of making a card but also watching the TSV repeat on QVC. So there should be a few cards made today :) I know I've been on a huge blog challenge hop but I just think that the inspiration that the design teams give me is amazing and I'm especially liking the sketches because its not something that I usually do so I'm liking the challenge. Anyway I'm off for a cuppa and I'll be back soon!

Creative Catz and ABC Christmas

I'm going to link 2 blog challenges with this card. As I've said I am really loving black base cards at the moment, so the Creative Catz challenge of Black and Red was perfect for me. The design teams cards are great as always and you can see them here. Also on the ABC Christmas challenge blog is "L is for Lights." The design teams are great also and you can see them here.

This cuttlebug embossing folder I just love and I have a feeling a lot of my Xmas cards are going to be made with it, I love the detail with it and think it works really well with this foil card. The "lights" are made from sticky jewels from Poundland. A very simple but effective card.

Dazzle Us!!!

this weeks challenge on Cupcake challenge is "dazzle us!" Now those of you wh0 know me will know that glitter is my most favourite crafting product (I'm such a girl!! lol!) the DT have some great samples (as usual) and you can see them here.

I'm loving black base cards at the moment (as you have probably noticed!!) and this one i jut love. the glitter paper came from Dunelm Mill and the image is from Dufex decoupage. I hope you like it as much as I do.

cute card thursday!!

Well you can tell its bank holiday monday, yet another challenge blog card done!!! this time I have done a card for cute card thursday. this weeks theme is no designer papers, you can see the design teams cards here. To be honest I found this q of quite an easy challenge because I just love my cuttlebug!!! Oh and its also the first Xmas card I've made this year. I've tidying out my craft stuff and I got a lot of inspiration from it. The image is a forever friends one (that I think came free with the do crafts magazine last year!!) I have embossed the background with the sledging embossing folder from Cuttlebug. I hope that you like it :)

Totally papercrafts challenge

Yet another challenge card today :) This weeks totally papercrafts challenge is monochrome - check out the DT cards here . I love monochrome, i think that black and white is so effective and can work so well on mens cards.

The image is a stamped image from a pack of tamps that I bought from QVC. I love the images from this kit because they stamp so well and look great black and white but also coloured. I like the simplicity of this card and I'm really pleased with how it turned out.

Papertake Challenge

this weeks challenge on the Papertake challenge blog is a sketch. I have never followed a sketch before but I thought I would try. I did struggle with it but I'm glad that I persevered.
The image is a Forever Friends stamped in black Versacolor and coloured with my watercolour pencils, layered on embossed Bazzill cardstock. Th lettering was cut from white holographic paper from a cuttlebug die.
(sorry about the photo I'm not sure what I did to it!!)

Mum's Birthday

Happy Birthday to my mum today (not that shes in the country she's sunning herself in Crete as she texted me this morning my dad had treated her to a champange breakfast!) Anyway the reason why I'm telling you this is that I have finally finished her card. It was a real struggle my craftng inspiration has gone this week even though I've been doing a lot of blog hopping (and lots of craft shopping too!!) But anyway mum likes really sinple cards but this one I think is very effective. Let me know what you think :)

The wooden butterfly embelishment came from my local craft shop which I have coloured with permanent markers, the pink embossed card is Bazzill basics in Chandler, the alphabet stickers are from a kit I bought from QVC years ago (when I remember who makes them I will let you know) and the black glitter card is from Woolies (as I have mentioned in a few of my posts).

I made this card this morning for the cute card thursday challenge blog. The theme this week is "Make Your Own," in which you need to make something yourself. I made the background from a florish stamp from papermania and the image (which I love and have bought several times!!) is from Dufex decoupage. I'm actually quite please with it :) I hope you like it too.

Allsorts Challenge blog

my inspiration has gone this week so I thought I would do a bit of blog hopping to see what challenges I could find, its been a while since I did this and I'm so glad that I did. I found the allsorts challenge blog and the theme this week is "Be Inspired." The DT gave you a photo of the most gorgeous butterfly bracelet and use this as your inspiration. I loved it and I hope that you like what I've come up.

Sunday, 18 April 2010

Another post today!!

Well I haven't posted anything for ages and I've got 2 on the same day. I've been trying to sort out some files on the computer so thought I would move some of my pictures to my blog :)

I bought these stamps from QVC and I love them. There were 5 foam stamps in the set and you will see these a lot over the next few weeks. They have totally encouraged me to become more of a stamper just because the images are so gorgeous. I wanted to keep this card as simple as possible because the image is so lovely.

I seem to be making a lot of baby cards recently and I love this image. These cards are simply a bit of matting and layering but I'm pleased with them :)

This Easter card I made for my Gran, the stickers are from Poundland (they are like shaker stickers) with Easter ribbon from my local craft shop and used glitter vellum from a do crafts goody bag.
I love this image, it is from a creative impressions Christmas theme plate. I embossed it with pearlised embossing powder. You cant tell from the image but I've inked the corners of the base card with a pink ink pad - I like using pink, lilac and blue for Christmas cards.

This is die cut decoupage from Kanban, I don't normally die cut decoupage because I like to it watching TV and cutting out the decoupage but I love the images on the sheet with this one. I just think that he is so cute!! I also think that it goes really well with the pearlised base card.

This is another card that I made with the Patchwork Pals kit from QVC. I loved this kit and I may buy it again because I used it loads. The base card is again card I got from Woolies before it closed.

This is the card that I made for my other half for valentines this year. I find it really difficult to make cards for him but I thought that this wasn't too girly!! The hearts and the love image are all papermania foam stamps and finished it off with gold heart peels offs.

This card I made for my other half's best friend who got engaged to his long term girlfriend just before Christmas. I used the same stamp as the valentines card above but I think that it looks totally different. I like the monochrome look but like to add a touch of colour like I have done here with the alphabets which were from a DCVW kit. The glitter paper was some wrapping paper that I had a left over from Christmas.

A quick last minute card for a last minute night out I was invited to. I can't remember where the topper came from but its a cute image.
